Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and GoAlgo for your use of Carrel. By creating an account you accept them. We have tried to write them so they can actually be read.

1. Who may use Carrel

You must be at least 16 years old. Carrel is invite-only while in trial, so an account also requires an invitation from us or from an existing member. One account per person. Do not share your account, and do not let anyone else sign in as you.

2. What Carrel is

Carrel is a learning app. It generates study material using AI, tests your recall, and lets you study alongside a small group of other people. It is not a school, not a certification, and not professional advice of any kind.

3. AI-generated content, and its limits

Learning content, quiz questions, and the responses of Carrel’s voice companion are generated by an AI model. It can be wrong. It can be confidently wrong. Do not rely on anything Carrel tells you for a medical, legal, financial, or safety decision, and verify anything that matters against a primary source. We do not warrant that generated content is accurate, complete, or current.

4. Your content

Anything you write in a discussion, and any transcript of a voice session you take part in, is your content. You keep ownership of it.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, display, and transmit that content strictly to operate Carrel: showing your message to your group, keeping the thread readable, and running the safety checks described below. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for a safety investigation or because the law requires it.

5. Rules of conduct

Carrel has groups, threads, and live voice. That makes conduct rules necessary. You agree not to:

• Post or say anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, or sexually explicit.
• Bully, dox, impersonate, or target any person.
• Post sexual content involving minors, or anything that sexualises a minor. This results in an immediate permanent ban and a report to the authorities.
• Promote self-harm, violence, terrorism, or illegal activity.
• Spam, advertise, or run a scheme to extract money from members.
• Upload malware, scrape the service, or attempt to break its security or rate limits.
• Use Carrel to build a competing dataset or model.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We remove reported content and eject offending users, and we do it without a warning where the conduct warrants it.

6. Reporting, blocking, and moderation

Every message and every user can be reported from inside the app, and every user can be blocked. Reports reach a moderation queue that we review. We aim to act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours, by removing the content, and by suspending or ejecting the user responsible where that is the right outcome.

If you believe we got a moderation decision wrong, write to support@carrel.app and a human will look at it again.

7. Voice sessions

Voice is optional and requires your consent before each session. Do not record other participants outside the app, and do not share a transcript containing another member’s words without their agreement. Voice time is metered and subject to a quota.

8. Payment and trial

Carrel is in a trial period and founding access may carry a fee. Where a fee applies, the amount and the billing period are shown before you pay. Prices are in Indian Rupees and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. If you bought through the App Store or Google Play, that store handles your billing, renewals, and refunds under its own policy, and refunds are subject to that store’s rules.

9. Ending the agreement

You may delete your account at any time from Settings in the app, or as described on our account deletion page. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms, if your conduct puts other members at risk, or if we are legally required to. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you why.

10. Availability

Carrel is provided as-is and as-available. It is an early product run by a very small team. Features will change, and there will be downtime. We do not promise uninterrupted service.

11. Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, GoAlgo is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, lost profits, or any decision you took in reliance on AI-generated content. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months, or ₹1,000. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

13. Changes

We will update this page when the terms change and revise the date at the top. If a change is material we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Carrel after that is acceptance.
